From the library of John Spencer-Churchill, the 11th Duke of Marlborough, with his signature to the recto to the front endpaper. Spencer-Churchill was Winston Churchill's first cousin twice removed. John Spencer-Churchill was an English peer, whose seat was at Blenheim Palace.In the original unclipped dustwrapper.'A History of the English-Speaking Peoples' is Churchill's history detailing the life of Britain and its former colonies throughout the world. This is Volume I only.Churchill covers from Caesar's invasions of Britain, up to the end of the Second Boer War.Illustrated with the occasional full-paged map.Written by Winston Churchill. Though this work was well received, his best known historical work is 'The Second World War'. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Light spots to the fore edge. Dustwrapper with minor edgewear and a few light marks. Spine of dustwrapper is a little sunned.
