Bernstein Professor Emeritus of Jewish Studies at the University of Rochester, the Joseph and Rebecca Mitchell Research Professor of American Jewish History and Bibliography at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, and a Visiting Professor of the Institute for Contemporary Jewry at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem.
