Ex-Libris Verplank Colvin; one Verplanck Colvin (1847 – 1920) was a lawyer, author, illustrator and topographical engineer who played a role in the creation of New York's Forest Preserve and the Adirondack Park.
Sir Thomas Stanley (1625 – 1678) was an English author and translator. Stanley's major work was The History of Philosophy, a series of critical biographies of philosophers, originally appearing in three volumes issued between 1655 and 1661. The History of Chaldaick Philosophy, recognized as the unofficial 4th volume, was published in 1662.
