Complete in three volumes. Half-title present to each volume.A detailed biography and history on the life and reign of Emperor Charles V.Charles V was a member of the House of Habsburg, and saw the family rise in ranks and situation throughout his life as he was at the head.Charles also held the titles of the Archduke of Austria, the King of Spain, and Lord of the Netherlands as Duke of Burgundy.Written by the noted Scottish historian William Robertson, who is known for his significant contributions to the study of history.Bookplate of Sir Richard Brooke to the front paste downs. A new edition, published in Ireland. In a full calf binding. Externally, smart. Spines and extremities are a little discoloured. Some minor marks to the boards and spines, slightly heavier mark to the front board of Volume III. Minor bumping to the extremities. Some spots to the fore edges. Bookplate to the front paste downs. Prior owner's ink to the recto of the front endpaper of Volume I. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Small tide mark to the head of the textblock of Volume II, affecting the first few pages lightly. Small worm hole through the textblock of Volume III, most often just a very small hole but a little larger to some pages, only affecting a few words of text. Very Good
