New York, NY, U.S.A.: The Macmillan Company, 1944. 3rd Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Fair. This Third Edition, Revised and Enlarged, was published in 1944. (First edition was 1929; Second edition 1930.) Hardcover in very good condition. Dusty gray boards with black spine lettering; corners & head & heel of spine bumped. Text block is clean & tight with no writings or markings noted. Endpapers and all text papers show age toning & dust dulling. Heavy papers have deckle edges on bottom and side. Two or three pages of the index show ghost of leaves of a pressed plant (plant no longer in book). Dust jacket in fair condition. All intact but shows shelf & edge wear and many chips along edges (see photos.) DJ not price clipped ($2.95.); in mylar cover. Title page notes title as listed here; dust jacket, however, just indicates ""A History of Science."" 574 numbered pages.
