New York and London: Harper and Brothers, 1900. Very Good condition. Light corner wear. Clean, square, and unmarked. No underlining. No highlighting. No margin notes. Illustrated with 50 black-and-white drawings by Thackeray. Bound in the original blue patterned cloth. Gilt lettering on the spine is still bright and shiny. Top edge gilt. The year of publication, 1900, is printed at the foot of the title page. Copyright is 1899. The bibliography appears on pages 319 through 338. Although the title page says the bibliography covers the years 1843-1848, in fact it describes Thackeray's PUNCH contributions (writings and drawings) from 1842 to 1854, inclusive. It also identifies the cartoons by John Leech and Richard Doyle that were "suggested by Thackeray." Index. . First American Edition?. Hardcover. Very Good condition/No dust jacket.
