No statement of printing history, $2.00 price in front jacket flap, full black cloth with gilt titles and illustration to front board and spine, 8vo, 12 full page illustrations (4 in color), occasional black and white in-text illustrations throughout, pictorial endpapers; mild edge wear, small inscription inked on front free endpaper, internally clean and sound; dust jacket rubbed and edge worn with chipping at extremities, water spots on lower half of spine, now in protective mylar cover. Lewis and Wiese's follow up to "Young Fu of the Upper Yangtze", which was a Newbery Award winner the previous year.
