1969 Juarez Editor first edition thus. Translated by Jorge Luis Borges. Illustrations by Antonio Berni. Limited edition, in Spanish.
The book consists of a portfolio folder which contains the text and illustrations. The text is 176 pages in 11 signatures. 10 of the 11 signatures are unopened. I opened the first signature to ascertain publication information. At the end of the text, a 12th unopened signature contains 5 woodcuts by Berni. Including the frontispiece opposite the title page, there are 6 Berni woodcuts in total.
The beginning of the book contains a critical study of Whitman written Guillermo Juarez, and a prologue written by Borges.
Condition of the book is Very Good. The cover shows moderate wear, with some light soil and creasing. Inside pages are complete. The main condition issue to inside pages is a gift inscription (para Alicia y Luis) on the first blank page of the first signature. The book was acquired from the estate of Alicia and Luis Monguio, who were both well known academic authorities on Spanish Literature.

Rare original poetry book with cloth covered boards, copyright 1880 by J. W. Shoemaker & Co. This edition published in 1906 by the Penn Publishing company, Philadelphia. From the estate of my great-great grandfather.Includes many unique poems and recitations such as "To a skull", "Uncle Daniel's Introduction to a Mississippi Steamer", "The Leak in the Dyke", etc. More well-known poetry includes "Song of Birds", "Old Ironsides", and "Bannock Burn" by Robbie Burns. Light rubbing and bumps to outside spine edges. Back cover and interior cloth covered board has a stain at top. Original owner's name and address from 1908, but no other writing or marks. First 2 pages have a stain at top, but text of 192 pages of poetry and recitations is totally clean with light tanning of pages.
