Quarter black cloth, yellow cloth boards. xxi, 260 pp. B&W illustrations in text. Foxing to top edges of boards and edges of text block. Bookplate of Edgar T. Peer to front pastedown. Offsetting to rear endpapers. Interior clean and bright. Dust jacket is price clipped, sunned at spine, chipped and worn at spine head and rear corners. Written in the form of a dialogue in which the emperor seeks information from his minister Ch'i-Po on all questions of health and the art of healing, the Classic has become a landmark in the history of Chinese civilization.
