NY: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1960. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good+/Good+. 8vo. 192pp. First edition. VG+/G+. Hardcover book bound in red cloth softened at spine ends, with very light bumps to top corners. Unclipped $3.75 jacket crease down the middle of the heavily sunned to spine panel, such that title is hard to read. Otherwise very good, with 1/2" closed tear along spine at base of front panel and general edgewear. Wallant's first novel, preceding his more successful "The Pawnbroker.

All books ship free with tracking to domestic addresses via USPS Media Mail. In most cases, delivery takes place within a three to ten day window, although the vicissitudes of USPS may apply. Unless otherwise requested, expedited domestic purchases ship via USPS Priority Mail; overseas orders via USPS First Class International. Heavy or oversized books may incur additional shipping charges, as may books shipped to overseas destinations. Any additional charges required will be communicated promptly.

We take safe shipping very seriously; all of our books are packaged in new cardboard boxes amply cushioned with biodegradable packing peanuts. Pamphlets and other flat materials items are ocassionally shipped in bubble-mailers with internal cardboard supports. All books with dust jackets are fitted with brand new archival protectors prior to shipping.
