1862 1ed SLAVE Census DATA Indians Confederacy Civil War Steel Industry
The 'Preliminary Report on the Eighth Census' is the last census report to show slavery data. Interestingly, since the preceding Census of the U.S. (1850) added every member of the household including women, children and slaves, Kennedy added also American Indians if they had renounced tribal rules. Particularly are the government discussions on disabilities of blindness, idiocy, and the major diseases at the time.

This 1862 edition of Kennedy's census report includes topics such as:
·
Growth of New York with an added population of 783,000 to Virginia where the population had gone down by 17% for the white population (and 3.88% of the slave population)
·
Indian slavery
·
Manumission
·
Fugitive slaves
·
Mortality rates and notes the rates of both whites and slaves
·
Various disabilities including the deaf and dumb as well as the blind

Institutionum Historiae Ecclesiasticae
By Johann Lorenz von Mosheim
***
Mid 18th century Church history written in Latin. Author of the study is Johann Lorenz von Mosheim, German Lutheran church historian. His first appearance in the field of literature was in a polemical tract against John Toland. This work is titled "Vindiciae antiquae christianorum disciplinae" and it was published in 1720. Year later a volume of "Observationes sacrae" followed it. These works secured for him a call to the University of Helmstedt. There he gained a title "professor ordinarius" in 1723. The "Institutionum historiae ecclesiasticae libri IV" appeared in 1726. In the same year, he was appointed by the duke of Brunswick abbot of Marienthal. This is one of the more important works regarding church history in Luteranism.

According to Wikipedia : William Henry Giles Kingston was born in Harley Street, London on 28 February 1814. He was the eldest son of Lucy Henry Kingston (d.1852) and his wife Frances Sophia Rooke (b.1789), daughter of Sir Giles Rooke, Judge of the Court of Common Pleas. Kingston's paternal grandfather John Kingston (1736–1820) was a Member of Parliament who staunchly supported the Abolition of the Slave Trade, despite having a plantation in Demerara. His father Lucy entered into the wine business in Oporto,[1] and Kingston lived there for many years, making frequent voyages to England and developing a lifelong affection for the sea.He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge and afterwards entered his father's wine business, but soon indulged in his natural bent for writing. His newspaper articles on Portugal were translated into Portuguese, and assisted the conclusion of the commercial treaty with… Read More
