Rich Edler manages his own consulting practice in the Los Angeles area. Prior to forming his own business, Rich spent the past 18 years as President or Managing Director of three different advertising agencies in Los Angeles: Doyle, Dan Bernbach, McCann-Erickson, and Foote, Cone & Belding. He has a marketing background including six years at Procter & Gamble. He is a guest lecturer at the American Association of Advertising Agencies Institute of Advanced Advertising Studies and a frequent speaker to business and student groups.

Rich holds a Bachelor and Masters Degree from the University of Iowa. He and his wife, Kitty, live in Palos Verdes Estates, California.

If I Knew Then What I Know Now, which G.P. Putnam's Sons published on January 2, 1995, is Rich Edler's first book -- a collection of different CEO responses to the same question: "What do you wish someone told you 25 years ago?" The book's hindsights range from business to life and from the serious to the practical to the humorous.
