Hard cover 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall in full vellum binding, sewn binding, all edges red, handwritten title on spine, woodcut device on title page. Near Fine. Vellum rubbed and cracking, soiled, pastedowns and endpapers torn, owner name on title page; square, tight, interior clean. Includes two books: The first book deals discusses the four main empires: I. The Assyrian, or Babylonian. II. The Persian. III. The Grecian. IV. The Roman, continued down to the beginning of the reign of the Emperor Charles the Fifth., the second and third books are the satirical classics of Juvénal and Persia. 225pp + Index.
