Lampe is Professor Emeritus in the Department of History at the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Global Senior Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C. Among his many publications, his most recent book is Balkans into Southeastern Europe, 1914-2014, A Century of War and Transition (Palgrave/Macmillan, 2014). Mark Mazower is Professor of History at Birkbeck College, London.
