Hardcover book with red cloth boards and dust jacket, reprint edition, 320pp, weighs 1625gms. This book covers military and civil firearms from the beginnings to the present day. Contents includes: The Hand Gonne; The Matchlock; The Wheel-Lock; The Snaphaunce; The Flintlock; The Percussion Principle; Breech-loading Firearms; The Revolver; The Rifle; The Machine Gun; Automatic Pistols; Automatic Rifles and Submachine Guns; and the Firearms of the Future. The book includes over 500 illustrations, including 50 in colour. This is a fair to good copy with general age-related wear and tear. Dust jacket is in poor condition, though still in tact, with discolouration and many tears (as can be seen in the attached photograph). There is a small pen inscription on the inside front blank page and insides show minor foxing. Red cloth boards have holes at corners and a split on the spine. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
