About the author

A.K. Prakash, author of Canadian Art: Selected Masters from Private Collections (2003), has been an advisor to some of the most prominent art collectors in North America for more than twenty years. In a varied and distinguished career, he served as Advisor to the Clerk of the Privy Council and Secretary to the Cabinet, the Prime Minister's Office, and to Royal Commissions. He has also consulted for the Canada Council; the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Ottawa; the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, Paris; and the United Nations Development Programme, New York, and its offices in Cairo, New Delhi, Tehran, and Ulan Bator. In addition to his two books, A.K. Prakash has written a series on Canadian Masters published over ten years (1903-2003) in the bilingual Magazin'Art and several exhibition catalogues published by art galleries in Calgary and Montreal. He was also an advisor for Canadian Paintings in the Thomson Collection of the Art Gallery of Ontario (2008).
