About This Item
Bonn and New York: Verlag Von H.B. Koenig, 1847. First Edition . Hardcover. Fair/No Dust Jacket. Four volumes. 862 + CVIII, 1182 + LII, 1199, and 988 + 86 pages. Volumes I and II are Koenig/Bonn 1847 and 1852. Volumes III and IV are Kittler/Leipzig, 1858 and 1861. All appear to be first editions. All volumes have been rebacked and have new endpapers, all retaining the original leather spine, and each has the bookplate of Harvard scholar Daniel Henry Holmes Ingalls. Volume I and III are Good, with edge-tanning and light foxing. The rear cover of Volume II has separated, and the front cover of Volume IV is quite tender, with each a Fair copy. All are now protected in mylar jackets. The text block bindings are sound, and the contents are unmarked.
