Cambridge at the University Press, 1908.. FIRST EDITION 1908. SIGNED BY F. W. DYSON, ASTRONOMER ROYAL AND ALSO WRITTEN IN HIS HAND: "EXAMINERS FOR THE PRIZE, G.H. Darwin; B. Mathews and F.W. Dyson". Tall slim 8vo, approximately 265 x 175 mm, 10½ x 7 inches, pages: xii, 1-92 plus errata leaf, original publisher's navy blue cloth, gilt lettering to spine, blind rules to edges of covers. Slight rubbing to head and tail of spine, corners slightly bumped, evidence that a label had been removed from first pastedown, pale age-browning to pastedowns and endpapers, otherwise a very good copy, no loose pages. "Sir Frank Watson Dyson, KBE, FRS was an English astronomer and Astronomer Royal who is remembered today largely for introducing time signals from Greenwich, England, and for the role he played in proving Einstein's theory of general relativity."
