[9], 68 pp. An 1801 Doctor of Medicine dissertation for the University of Pennsylvania by Bibb looks at the effect of medicine on the six systems of the human body: Visceral, Sanguiferous, Nervous, Muscular, Absorbent, and Glandular. He explores the relationships of the systems and disputes some theories of a Doctor Charles Darwin [not the English naturalist]. This inquiry was written prior to William Wyatt Bibb's political career as Senator from Georgia, and Governor of Alabama. REFERENCES: Shaw & Shoemaker, 166; Austin, R.B. Early American Medical Imprints, 202. CONDITION: Partially separated spine, soiling on cover and moderate soiling throughout, well-used but readable.
