New York: United States Polo Association, 1927. First edition. Soft cover. Covers chipped, edges worn; internally very good. Brown, Paul. 120p, many photos, line ills., and ads (a few in color). Large souvenir program for the famous 1927 America-England match. Includes articles about the game and its history (including polo in contemporary India), large photos of all the British and American players, details of the ponies in both strings, a 2-page spread of of sketches by Paul Brown illustrating "The Galloping Game," and many ads for luxury goods such as hotels, furs, automobiles, riding equipment, etc. C.W. Post advertises that they will auction most of the British ponies and all their gear after the tournament. The English team was made up of players and ponies on the Army of India team, sponsored by various maharajahs. The American starting team of Webb, Hitchcock, Stevenson, and Milburn was called by Newell Bent "one of our greatest, if not our very greatest, polo team."
