iv+42 typescript pages with tables and index. Octavo (8 1/4" x 5 3/4") bound in original publisher's stapled wrappers. First edition limited to 325 copies. Twelve contestants vied for this international tournament. Vassily Smyslov and Ratmir Kholmov both representing Russia shared first place with a score of 8.5/11. Viktor Korchnoi of Switzerland was banging on the door with 8. A distant fourth was Vladimir Bagirov with 6.5 followed closely by Vladimir S Antoshin. Lev Polugaevsky was sixth with five points. Gyorgy Szilagyi was clear seventh. A three way tie occurred for eight with Vladimir Simagin, Wolfgang Uhlmann and Vlastimil Hort. Condition: A near fine copy.
