Boards and spine have minimal shelf-wear, with mild corner bumping and crushing to ends. Gilt remains bright. Unclipped jacket. Moderate edgewear, with noticeable chipping, tearing and creasing, and loss to head of spine. Visible water stain to tail. Heavy rubbing and small label to rear panel.

DJ is scored, scuffed and discoloured; edges are worn and several small tears have been lightly repaired by clear tape. Light creasing to spine head and foot of boards and minor bumping to corners. Internally, pages well bound and depsite tanning, text, images and photographs are clear and bright. Any pencil marks or marginalia remains extant, due to the academic recognition of Susan Reynolds.
