About This Item
Chicago: E.A. Weeks. Chicago, E.A. Weeks, 1898. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. A very good copy. A utopian novel, and not overly common. "Ionia is a singularly self-satisfied Greek civilization hidden in the Himalayas, boasting advanced aircraft, prohibition, mandatory Eugenics (sterilizations are frequent) and communism (and no Jews: as they were quarrelsome, they have all been exterminated)." [SFE, Clute]. Possibly bearing Craig's signature to a Porthsmouth Athenaeum sticker pasted to the front pastedown (along with a plate from Lawrence Craig, presumably a relative). There's a little story in there somewhere, maybe the author donated a copy. A little toning to the spine, TEG, minor bumping. A handful of marks internally. A nice copy. Illustrations by J.C. Leyendecker [11293, Hyraxia Books]. . Very Good. Hardback. 1st Edition. 1898.
