Book has rubbing and soil to boards and spine, moderate rubbing to boards, edgewear, binding tender but holding, previous owner's plate and inscription to front endpapers, toning and foxing throughout, scuff to rear pastedown.

Original decorated green cloth, gilt titling to the front board and the spine, top edge gilt. Minor rubbing to the extremities of the binding, light foxing of the preliminary pages, else this is a bright, very good copy. Part of the 6 shilling series of A&C Black colour books. Inman 276. This is the scarcest of the 6 shilling books; it was cut down from a book originally published in the 20 shilling series, and only 1700 copies were issued.

This is a Good to Very Good Copy of this Book in publisher's original sage green cloth boards with gilt title lettering to spine and upper cover and with gilt Irish harp design to the front cover and with further shamrock designs to the spine and upper cover.There is one previous inscription to the front pastedown.Well illustrated work with some 79 coloured plates of Ireland each one with captioned tissue guard protection.The outer boards are very nice and clean well preserved.There is some foxing internally mostly affecting the page margins and there is some weakness with the book's binding at various page gatherings.This is one of the less common works in the series.Top edge of the book is in gilt with slight rubbing to spine tips and to the corners.1905... 8vo (xix) 212pp plus 4 pages of ads at rear of the book . Dark blue cloth with harp and shamrock design printed in green and yellow. Gilt titles to spine. 50 tissue-guarded colour plates. 3000 copies printed. The text used is the same as the 1906 edition illustrated by Walker. This is the NEW edition with new illustrations. Front cover is a little bowed. Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Browning to spine, with small split to rear edge. Joints are a bit cracked, some hinges are pulled. Foxing to various degrees throughout. A couple of pages (around pages 15 / 16) have chipped/ragged page margins.
