Paper Garden Books is a family owned & managed online used bookstore created in 2017 by Doris & Steve Smith so that their only son, Jacob, could be gainfully and purposely employed. Jacob is severely impacted by autistic behavior, expressive & receptive speech delay, anxiety, sensory processing disorder & immune dysregulation since age 3. While Jacob has gotten older & taller, his love of all kinds of books has never changed. Books allow Jacob to explore his world without leaving the safety of his home.

Contact information from the order form is used to ship orders to customers. The customer's contact information is used to contact the visitor when necessary. Financial information that is collected is used to bill the customer for products and services.

Mavis Jukes is the award-winning author of several books for children and teenagers, including the Newbery Honor Book Like Jake and Me . Her other titles include No One is Going to Nashville , Blackberries in the Dark , Getting Even , Wild Iris Bloom , and I'll See You in My Dreams . Mavis taught school for several years -- and was a lawyer -- before becoming a children's book writer. She volunteers as an attorney in the area of juvenile defense and is presently a language arts specialist in a public elementary school. She lives with her husband, the artist Robert Hudson, and their teenage daughters in Sonoma County, California.
