Very good. No dust jacket. 247 p. This hard bound, oversize, and I would grade it VERY GOOD but for the library provenance. Preface plus 247 pp + 21 pp notes and index. A review of the United Church and its founding partners, the Congregational, Methodist and Presbyterian Churches in British Columbia. Chapters start with "the First Inhabitants' (by 1853 300 Europeans Victoria and area plus 125 Nanaimo and 25 Fort Rupert. Book provides information on early BC and focuses on relations with the churches. Covers right thru 1970s. Self published-small print run-and scarce. The First Missionaries (1858-1871); The Hard Years (1871-1886); A Booming Province (1886-1900); Yukon Missions; Into the 20th Century (1900-1914); WWI (1914-1918); Resurgence (1918-1925); Church Union 1925; The Making of a New Church (1925-1930); The Years of Testing (1930-1939); WWII (1939-1945); Growth and Expansion (1945-1974). Binding tight library labels etc. Solidly bound with illustrated front board. No interior markings. First edition. Grading may be only Good Plus (I am no expert)So please note the description of defects.
