Reviews
On Mar 13 2020, a reader said:
Tales of Wells Fargo contains eight short stories based on the T V show of the same name from the late 50's to early 60's starring Dale Robertson. Frank Gruber created the series and wrote many of the screenplays or the stories on which the screenplays were written. In this book you will meet many historical personages and places--Billy the Kid, Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, the OK Corral, the Pony Express, and other well known icons of the West. Frank Gruber was known for this technique, and his history was often contrived to fit the fiction he was writing as to time and place, but basicly this was in accordance to the beliefs of the day about these things. Only in the last few years has there been any real effort to examine the "facts" more closely. Overall these are good stories, entertaining stories.
