London: Collins, 1988. First edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Very Good. 8" by 5.5". None. The first edition of this Lovejoy novel 'Jade Woman' by Jonathan Gash. John Grant (born 1933 in Bolton) is an English crime writer, who writes under the pen name Jonathan Gash. He is the author of the Lovejoy series of novels. He wrote the novel The Incomer under the pen name Graham Gaunt. Even East Anglia becomes too hot for Lovejoy, dodgy antique dealer, when he is forced to flee gangsters, bailiffs, police, bankruptcy... He makes it to Hong Kong, but then things go horribly wrong and he is soon destitue. Wandering the alleys and markets of the colony, he glimpses one of the famous Jade Women, the trained beauties who figurehead the notorious triads, but by then survival is all he cares about. In the original publisher's cloth binding with the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. Very minor shelfwear to the boards, with a light crease to the spine. Light edgewear to the dustwrapper, with a little rubbing to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Near Fine
