About This Item
London: Edmund Ward, 1948. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. (Leicester: Edmund Ward n.d. [1948]. First UK Edition, First Impression. Oblong duodecimo. Publisher's original dark blue boards with vignette and title to front cover in gold. A touch of rubbing atv the spine tips and a neat former owner's name to the front paste-down otherwise a near fine copy. In the RARE D/W priced 4/-net to the inside flap (as called for). The D/W is really bright and attractive. There are a couple of short closed tears to the front and back panels and minuscule loss at the spine tips. A much nicer copy than normally seen of the third book in the Rev'd Awdry's Railway Series. Uncommon in this lovely collectable condition and scarce with these attributes. Photographs/scans available upon request.
