About the author

Terrie Sultan is Director of the Blaffer Gallery, the Art Museum of the University of Houston. Prior to joining the Blaffer Gallery, she was Curator of Contemporary Art at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. During her years as a museum professional, Sultan has organized more than fifty exhibitions and publications. Her most recent books include Jessica Stockholder, Kissing the Wall: Works, 1986-2003 and Chuck Close Prints: Process and Collaboration. She was awarded a Chevalier of Art and Letters by the French government in 2003.
