In red cloth boards with white cloth spines and gilt design motifs, type and top page ends. Both volumes illustrated and with frontispiece. Volume 1 has faint stain to top of front board, some light spots of fraying at spine ends. and shaken/loose bindingTiny 1/2 inch split to rear hinge at endpapers - about Very Good -. Jacket has 2 1/4 inch tear to top rear spine crease with a small chip in the middle. A couple chips as well to spine ends. and some splash marks across spine with a few drops on front panel - Fair. Volume 2 likewise has some light fraying to heel of spine, some more extensive splitting to rear hinge at endpapers and a shaken/loose binding - Good +. Jacket has thin chips at spine ends, a horizontal split at the mid-point of spine and same splash marks across spine - Good.
