Dust wrapper a touch worn at the turn-in folds, else a good copy. *FRANCIS BRETT YOUNG (1884-1954), graduated MB, ChB, from the University of Birmingham in 1907. His father was a doctor and his mother, the daughter of the surgeon John Jackson of Somerby, Leicestershire. After marriage he settled to practise in Brixham, Devon; he joined the Royal Army Medical Corps during WWI but due to poor health was no longer able to practise medicine and retired to Capri. He had always combined medicine with literature and after some success as a writer, he and his wife returned to England, settling near Evesham in 1933.
