About the author

Julia Robinson is Assistant Professor in the Department of Art History at New York University. She was the curator of the exhibition "John Cage & Experimental Art: The Anarchy of Silence" and editor of the accompanying catalog. She is also the editor of New Realisms: 1957-1962: Object Strategies Between Readymade and Spectacle (Museo Reina Sofa/MIT Press, 2010) and was the curator of the exhibition it accompanied.
