Special presentation copy of the first edition, limited to 100 copies, this is number 27. Signed by both Cisneros and West on limitation card affixed to front endpaper. Light green cloth quarter bound in darker green cloth with gilt lettering on spine. No notable defects to boards. Grey illustrated dust jacket has creasing to edges and mild soiling. Housed in tan cloth slipcase with gilt lettering. Very slight rubbing to edges, otherwise slipcase is in fine condition. Tight binding and clean interior. Laid in is an invitation to a reception honoring the artist and celebrating the book's publication, also signed by both Cisneros and West. Features illustrations in both color and black and white throughout. Jose Cisneros (1910-2009) was a Mexican-born artist who illustrated over 300 books and was best known for his drawings of Texas horsemen. This book combines a biography of the artist with a retrospective on his work. ; B&W & Color Illustrations; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 195 pp; Signed by Author & Illustrator .
