London: Faber and Faber., 1971. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. 512pp. 2.35Kg. The diary the naturalist kept on his first voyage to Newfondland and Labador in the Niger, which preceded his trip with Captain Cook on the Endeavour. Includes his scientific manuscripts and a detailed account of his collections. Profusely illustrated with 12 colour plates and many in b/w , plus drawings and charts, including fold-outs. Maroon cloth boards with gilt lettering in black panel to spine. Internally the front hinge is a little loose but not broken and the a small piece of the top corner of the half-title page has been clipped and there is a little damage to a short lenght of the page fore-edge. o/w contents are tight and clean. V.G. in like d/w with a little edgewear and small repaired tear to top of spine, and is in removable clear protective wrap. This is a very heavy book and owing to the weight, extra shipping will be incurred. Please ask for details..
