About the author

F. J. Foakes Jackson (1855-1941) was a prominent Anglican, educator, theologian and Church historian. He served for many years at Jesus College, Cambridge. Following his time at Jesus College he became a graduate professor at Union Theological Seminary in New York. Among his many books he is probably most well-known for his five volume set The Beginnings of Christianity which he collaborated on with Kirsopp Lake.
