The text covers topics as i.a. historical essays, biographies of famous doctors, public hygiene, recipes, therapeutics, "latest news", instruments and apparatus, veterinary science, surgery, anatomy, pathology, ethnology, psychiatry, etc. In each issue are advertisements. The main feature, however, are its attractive illustration, especially the ca. 20 often sticking engravings of patients with mental disorders, the historical reconstructions such as Vesalius in Court (accused for dissection on a living person), Larrey at work, etc. There is a fine plate of Druides collecting medicinal plants, etc. Most of the portraits of famous French doctors are rarely reproduced again. --(Scattered light foxing throughout the issues).
