The Caterpillar Club was founded by Leslie Irvin who developed his own life-saving static line parachute and membership of his club was given to those who had used his invention in a life or death situation.

A generous list of illustrations provided. The Caterpillar Club, was founded by Leslie Irvin, the designer and original demonstrator of the world's first successful free-type parachute. The first story begins in 1940 with Pilot Officer W.B. Parker, an officer of the Royal New Zealand Air Force who made what is probably the most terrifying parachute descent in the history of the war. The book is clean and bright. The illustrated, price-intact dust jacket shows some spine paper loss and back panel soiling but still remains bright.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good.
