PO signature in a couple of places. Contents are foxed and pages show the effects of being stored in a humid area for a long period of time. The author, nicknamed "pump" was a flamboyant newpaper-man in Madison, WI. The authors anti-Republican views at the time of the Civil War are expressed.

In 2 volumes, frontispiece with titles to each volume (including tissue-guarded to first volume), illustrations in text throughout.

Slight rubbing and marking to covers and to endpapers; with bumping to corners, some foxing and marking to first and last few leaves of second volume, both volumes in good condition , green cloth, red and black illustration to upper boards with red borders and black decorative titles, black decorative titles with red detail to lower boards and spines.

First edition. Illustrated perfect-bound wraps as issued, with French fold flaps; very minor rubbing to exterior wraps, in near fine condition. Signed by Le Guin on the title page of King Dog, signed by Tess Gallagher on title page of Dostoevsky.
