About This Item
London: F C and J Rivington, 1814. Leather. Good. 8.5" by 5.5". None. A collection of the letters of the mysterious 'Junius', a contributor of many socially influential letters to the Public Advertiser in the eighteenth century. Junius was the pseudonym of a writer who contributed a series of letters to the Public Advertiser, from 21 January 1769 to 21 January 1772. The signature had been already used, apparently by him, in a letter of 21 November 1768. These and numerous other personal letters were not included in his Letters of Junius collection, published in 1772. Including three folding facsimiles. Two volumes of a three-volume set. In half-calf bindings. Externally, generally smart, though a little rubbed, with some wears to the heads and tails of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages have some instances of spotting, but are bright. Good
