Limited edition of 360 total, of which 250 were signed by the author; this is number 25, and is inscribed by Dorothy Wellesley (1889-1956) to Hugh Walpole (1884-1941); both authors in the Bloomsbury period of London literature, they apparently knew each other well: they both served on committees that advised Hilda Matheson, former director of the BBC and the first director of the Joint Broadcasting Committee for the Ministry of Information. This book was the last hand-printed by Leonard and Virginia Woolf at The Hogarth Press, the last before Virginia Woolf sold her shares of the Press in 1938. ___DESCRIPTION: Light blue decorated paper boards, blue lettering on the front, matching patterned endpapers, limitation statement with author's inscription on the verso of the flyleaf, octavo size (approximately 8.5" tall), unpaginated with four leaves total. ___CONDITION: Better than good, with some overall wear and light soiling to the boards, a bit of foxing internally, and some rubbing to the corners; the sewn binding is somewhat loose but holding well, other than the aforementioned foxing the book is clean and bright internally, and it is entirely free of prior owner markings. ___POSTAGE: International customers, please note that additional postage may apply as the standard does not always cover costs; please contact us for details. ___Swan's Fine Books is pleased to be a member of the ABAA, ILAB, and IOBA and we stand behind every book we sell.
