About This Item

Toronto: Viking Penquin Books, 1994. First Edition, First Printing . Hardcover. Good to Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. This is a brilliant and iconoclastic analysis of a murder case, and of the assaults, betrayals, rumours, media manipulations, legal manoeuvres, and computerized information exchanges that have spun themselves into Karla's web." 318 pp. plus: Endnotes, Bibliography, Index. The book was subject to censorship and contains publisher blacked out sections, sentences, words and phrases. This publication ban extended to items in the bibliography as well. Except for a section on p.156 all blacked out information has been reentered, either typed or in black and red ink printing. Blacked out sections were carefully retyped, cut out and pasted in to cover the censored areas exactly. Book carries the usual library markings. Stamped: Librarian Canadian Penitentiary Service Millhaven Institution. Book edges are worn and scuffed as are spine corners. Bottom edge lightly soiled and some moisture evidence on fep. Book is tight and square. Unclipped DJ shows edge wear but no chipping or tears. Signs of moisture to inside top and bottom of DJ as well. Newspaper photograph of Kim Campbell and another person laid in (possibly in connection with Davey's book about Campbell?). A most unusual book from the library of the prison where Paul Bernardo was serving his sentence. Bookseller's Inventory # 071004

About Lower Beverley Better Books

An online bookstore that just grew from a combination of a love of books, a desire to save them from landfill and an inability to bypass yard sales. A considerable percentage of my inventory is signed editions. I also take pride in my Canadiana catalogue.
