W. W. Norton and company, 1960 O'Donoghue (1900-?) was born in Ireland and emigrated to England in 1943. His experience as an emigrant was the subject of his first book, In a Strange Land. In 1957, he described his Kerry childhood in his second book called In a Quiet Land. The sale item is his third book, publlshed by Norton in 1960. Green cloth binding with gold lettering on spine only. Stated first American edition from 1960. Binding tight and square, clean and bright but bumped at top and bottom of spine. There is a small ink mark at bottom of page block which might be a remainder mark. Unclipped dust jacket has noticeable wear and chipping at extremities. Repairs and restorations have been made. 187 pages.

Lacks the front free endpaper, and there is some tanning of the contents; overall, the book is in good condition. The dustwrapper is in good condition (a little rubbed, some chafing of the edges). The dustwrapper has now been put in a mylar cover to protect it.
