About This Item
Secker and Warburg, 1957. 1st UK Edition. Hardcover. VG++/VG+. 1st UK Edition, 1st Printing. 13 x 20.5cm maroon cloth coverss with silver titles to the spine, 320pp. In original dust jacket priced at 18s net. The boards have been well protected by the dust jacket and are clean with bright titles. The corners are firm and sharp and there is just a hint of pushing to the foot of the spine. Internally without name, inscription or bookplate and just a little spotting to the edge of the text block. The dust jacket, which is now protected in a removable clear cover (not shown), has a touch of sunning to the spine and a little spotting and dust staining most obviously on the rear panel. The top and bottom edges of the flaps are also a little dust marked. There is light rubbing to the spine tips and corners with 3mm closed tears on the lower joint at the head of the spine, the middle of the spine and on the top corner of the upper board. A good looking 1st UK edition of this somewhat controversial book. Rainford & Parris Books welcomes enquiries, so please do not hesitate to ask if you require further images or have any questions. All books are packaged with great care.
