Reviews
On Dec 17 2022, a reader said:
A beautiful, sensitive but not sentimental story. Lord Dunsany's style brought together various archaic elements and styles and combined them what I can best describe as a sensitivity to the world -- not just to the human condition. Modern fantasy has for too long been a choice between saccharine cosiness or adolescent grim negativity. Dunsany represents something quite apart from that. Even on a sentence by sentence level, he writes with a sense of real music and poetry that is rare and, at his best as this book is one representative of, unique and unequaled.
