(Printed on cheap wartime paper.) Housed in the original shipping box which is slightly faded. No stamps or address on the shipping box. This small book contains the first published appearance of J. D. Salinger, a story called "The Hang of It." Second issue with the copyright page stating 1943 printing. Examples with the shipping box have become quite uncommon.

Some light rubbing to boards as usual; but a tight, fresh copy. The box is addressed to a soldier in Camp Lee, Virginia and has a few bumps and some light rubbing, but is in nice condition. . 12mo,. The 1942 first edition is extremely uncommon, and particularly so in the original case.
