Media reviews

"As with most of Osprey Publishing's books it is lavishly illustrated. You won't see any reconstructions painted by modern artists, but every spread displays colorful imagery from period manuscripts, photos of surviving armor... This book was a good introduction to the military of the Middle Ages."
- Ferrous Lands

"Magnificent photos of actual armor, period artwork and other imagery abound. They make this 240-page book a richly illustrated guide to everything from battling bishops to romantic knights fighting for love, and the sort of man who could have truly said his home is his castle."
- Toy Soldier & Model Figure (June 2013)
