Publisher's original red cloth, lettered gilt at the spine. Crime fiction featuring Detective Inspector John Rebus - his first appearance. No inscriptions, not price-clipped. ISBN: 0370310578. The page block edges have just a hint of toning (much less than normally seen) and there is minor foxing to the top edge still a fine copy in a fine D/W with no fading whatsoever to the red spine lettering. Signed, located (Edinburgh) and dated (Aug 07) and doodled with the Author's customary knots and crosses. A really attractive signed copy and scarce in this lovely, shelvable condition.
