Description:
Seattle: Ladies Auxiliary to Temple De Hirsch, 1925. (USA) 3rd edition, 1925; the book first appeared in 1908; there was a 2nd edition in 1916. Thee is a 3 word recipe notation to the end paper with is toned, no other markings, pages generally clean but with some small cooking spots to mrgins of 2 of the ad pages to the back of the book, slight even soiling to the cream coloured covers, Very Good overall; no dust jacket perhap as published, Cream colour cloth with black titles, 446pp, then xii index, then [12] pp of local ads for Seattle businesses. The recipes are present breifly in the style of old cookbooks, 4 or 5 to a page, many with the contributors' names. There are 34 chapters ranging from Appetizers to Vegetables. The Cake and Cookies chapters seem especially good but I like the Breakfat Foods chapter where there are recipes for Matzo meat fritters and griddle cakes. (2.0 JM HOQ 101/1. 3rd. Hardcover. Very Good/No Dust Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾".
