About This Item

Maidenhead: The Landmark Trust, 1996. Sixteenth Edition. Paperback. Very Good/No Jacket. The Landmark Trust is a British charity which preserves old and interesting buildings by renting them out to holidaymakers, using the money gained for restoration work. Since its foundation in 1965 the Trust has saved over 200 buildings of historic or architectural importance from decay or unsympathetic alteration. Here, then, is a catalogue of these properties as extant in 1997/98. Each entry is accompanied by a map giving its location, details of its history and restoration, a floor plan, and photographs of exterior and interior. A fascinating book for the student of architecture, the historian, or anyone who appreciates old buildings. Contains 168 pages, 29.5 x 23.5cm, illustrated throughout with b&w photos and plans. Pictorial card covers with minor wear to edges and small crease to bottom/right edge, otherwise in good condition. Internally Very Good: clean, bright and unmarked in excellent bindings.
